OAR Classifieds / Bella Needs a Home!

[Update! 11-18-2009 / Bella has a great new home! Thanks to all who were interested...]

Bella is a beautiful petite young lady with semi-long solid black hair.

The vets estimated her to be 1-2 years old. She has greenish eyes, and she is wonderfully affectionate with everyone she meets. Our neighbors have been helping us to foster her, and she does fine with their 4-year-old daughter. She also seems fine around other cats and dogs, but she doesn't like traveling in the car.

Bella is fully litter-trained, of course, and she is much more interested in people than food! She loves to cuddle, and she's a truly easy cat! Bella has been spayed, given her Rabies shot, de-wormed, and treated for fleas. She's all ready for a great new home.

OAR Classifieds / Twins need a loving home

Twins need a loving home

I have two of the sweetest, most loving cats there are, we like to refer to them as ‘the twins’ J. Problem is, I need to find them equally as loving homes. I’ve tried to keep them the past year but they really need to live in a home that is just ‘theirs’ because they do not get along with other cats, and unfortunately I have too many other cats for them to live their lives to the fullest, so they hide in my bathroom day in and day out. What kind of life is that?

They are litter box trained, 6 years old and declawed. They are sweet, shy at first and are sisters. Their names are Taylor (who is a bobtail) and Shelby (who has her tail).

I want to find them the perfect homes for them. Again, they’re shy and afraid of other animals so other cats and dogs are not an option with these two. They do get along with children when they warm up to the family. They also MUST go as a team. Which means, both cats go together.

If you are interested in Taylor and Shelby, please send me an email: blueangelx2@hotmail.com

Serious inquiries only. These girls really need a loving home!!

All applicants will be thoroughly screened! Vet reference is required.

Small adoption fee required.

Local applicants in Greater Cincinnati area only! Out of state and out of country inquiries will be immediately deleted and reported to our service as SPAM.

Lost Dog / Whippet Mix Near Cedar Lake Lane in Loveland, OH

I need help in finding my dog. His name is Hilo, he looks to be a whippet mix, and is very thin. He’s not malnourished, just a very thin build. I am not sure of his breed but he is blonde, shorthaired; stands about thigh high to a 6-foot person.

He was last seen running out of my home on Cedar Lake Lane in Loveland.

He ran off going northbound close to US 28. We’ve been to the local shelters many times and still have not turned him up.

He was wearing a collar, which was blue, and it has a phone number and his name on it. The phone on the collar does not work anymore, so it’s important to email if you’ve seen him or if you have him. He was also wearing a Harley Davidson bandana. He’s been missing since the 2nd of October. He has a brother that is missing him very much.

He’s very difficult to feed. He is timid, and scared of most people. He is a P&G rescue, has a serial number tattooed in his left ear.

We really miss him. If you have ANY information or have seen Hilo, please email me: blueangelx2@hotmail.com

I will offer a reward for the return of Hilo.

Lost Dog / Golden Female Dog (Cincinnati, near XU)

I am asking for help in finding a lost dog in the Cincinnati area, near Xavier University off exit 5 on I-71. She followed her dad in his truck as he left the house to go to Home Depot. They just moved to their new house and had only been there for 2 weeks. She and her dad were on the front porch doing some home repairs. She was sitting on the front porch as he left in the truck. She was seen running after him, but it was too late. The family searched for her until 1 in the morning. The mom goes to the local SPCA daily to see if she has been brought in as a stray. So far, she has not ended up there. I am sending this out just in case she has been given to a rescue group or if anyone has seen or heard about her as a stray. I have very few rescue folks that I know in the Cincinnati area, please help if you know of someone in the area.

She's about a 50 pound golden / spitz / collie mutt , fixed, 10 years old. Very sweet and shy, her nose is slightly pink / very light brown. She had just come from the groomers, so she was nicely clipped.

Please contact vanessa.wong@pnc.com

OAR Classified Ad / Mom & Kittens Looking for Home

A mom and her kittens are looking for a great home. They can be adopted all together or individually.

Emma: The momma. A truly sweet cat. She is a long haired deep grey 3 year old cat (roughly). Loves to be held and is very attentive to her kits. She actually gets along with all of my other animals, including my dog :) My youngest cat doesn't like her at all though, which is why she can't stay with me permanently. She came to me, showed up in my back yard extremely ill and emaciated. She is now fully healed and healthy. She has all of her first shots and I will be getting her spayed. She has no issues using the litter box and keeps herself well groomed.

Kittens: Litter of long haired kittens born on 8/15/09. All are healthy and playful. We bottle fed Lucky, the grey kitty for a week and then Emma took her back into the fold. I am not certain of the sex of the kittens yet. They are all litter trained and just about fully weaned. They have been on kitten chow for about 4 weeks now. Fun bunch of kittens with great personalities. They have been raised in a household with a dog and 4 other adult cats and are very socialized.

If you are interested in adopting one (or all) of these cats, please contact Karen at karensmaby@zoomtown.com

All applicants will be thoroughly screened! Vet reference is required.

Small adoption fee required.

LOST Shepherd Mix / Mt. Airy Forest - Northside

Buddie has been mising since the storms on Monday. Buddie is between 5 and 6 years of age, and has been neutered. He is a large dog, mostly all black with some brown/tan markings on the chest, legs and face.

He was a Katrina rescue, and is very scared to get into cars or even into a house. Especially a stranger's. He is a very nice and submissive dog. Do not let his size scare you.

Last seen he had on a bright blue collar with a battery pack attached. He may not even have the collar on at this point. His tags are still attached to his old collar, so he does not have on tags.

He is registered at the SPCA and is also microchipped.

He disappeared off West Fork Road along side Mt Airy Forest.

I have been in contact and visited the Colerain SPCA, and have called around to local vets to put out the word.

Please if you have any information, respond to this add or call 608-5253. Thanks for reading this!!!!

OAR Classified Ad / Great Cat Needs a Home

This sweet little girl is the only survivor of her homeless mom's litter and warmed up to belly rubs and treats in one day. She has an amazingly gentle disposition. We call her "O-ee". She loves to play with her toy feathers and wrestle with her pal Sable, a one-year-old cat. She is about 2 1/2 months old, has been vet checked and spayed, and would love to snuggle up in her new home soon! She is a very rare little girl, as most cats of her coloring are males. She has a sweet little squeaky noise that she makes when she is happy to see her people, and warms up to new people very quickly. Please consider this sweet little rescue!

Please contact jayde at j_rogenski@hotmail.com, or call 513-403-0855 if you are interested in this sweet cat!

[Update/ 09/16/2009 - Murphy the dog has found a new home! Thanks to all of those who were interested...]
Great family dog needs a family!!! Murphy was left homeless in Adams County in August and we brought him home rather than leave him out there alone. However we have 3 cats and a foster kitten that are not happy about his presence. He may be ok in a home with cats if the cats are accustomed to dogs. He is about 2 1/2 years old, neutered and utd on shots. He looks to be a rott/lab or possibly doberman/lab mix. Murphy is a loving companion; he responds to sit and stay, loves to fetch a ball or stick, and is happiest to just be with his people. We cannot imagine why this guy was abandoned. He is great with children and just about anybody he meets, but might be best as an only dog. We just know the perfect family is out there for him!

All applicants will be thoroughly screened! Vet reference is required.

Small adoption fee required.

Local applicants in Greater Cincinnati area only! Out of state and out of country inquiries will be immediately deleted and reported to our service as SPAM.

OAR Success Story / Cali

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to let everyone know how little Cali (all black female, nee MJ) is adjusting to life . Cali has 7 siblings. One is a male kitten Tuck, (oddly enough, Tuck’s estimated DOB was the day before Cali’s estimated DOB!), a 2 year old, a 5 year old, a 6 year old, a 7 year old and two 9 year olds. And, one skin sibling, Jonah, 5. The recent adoption of Tuck was the primary reason we wanted another kitty, and Cali is it!

Within hours of coming home (not even a week ago), Cali was the little energizer bunny. She never sat still, and the other cats, even Tuck, were a little taken aback. That might have been the status for about 24 hours. J As I expected, the kittens love to play with one another. The rest of the cats are less interested in Cali then they are Tuck (who has only been with us 2 weeks), so I am curious to see how things evolve the next month or so. All of the big cats are very gentle with Tuck and just stare at Cali as she bounds by. The introduction of the kittens has been super easy.

Cali is a big, big love bug. She crawls into our laps, then up on our chests to snuggle. She has been found asleep in my son’s bed in the am (she woke him super early with kisses two days in a row), she really wants attention. She really likes my son (and most cats/kittens seem to be cautious around little ones at first). I can’t say that I have heard her meow. I have seen her mouth open, but, I can’t hear much of anything come out. She sits in the window beds, sniffs the outside air, climbs everything , hated me trimming her nails, and really loves her food.

Thanks to the man (Dave???) that fostered her, and remind him he can call/visit us whenever he would like! Here are some photos. I hope you enjoy them and thanks for allowing us to adopt Cali!!

Mom & Kittens in Westwood Need Help

Several weeks ago, a young mother cat and her 3 kittens showed up in my neighborhood in Westwood. I have been trying to find a home for them but have been unsuccessful.

I am very concerned about their immediate safety--one of my neighbors is very angry about the kittens (they get under his car and once were found in the engine under the hood). In addition, we are getting new gas lines on our street so there is a lot of heavy equipment and large holes everywhere.

If you can help, or if you know of an organization that can help, please contact me at reiterjen@aol.com

OAR Classified Ad / Kitten & Mom Need a Home!

Update [8/20/2009] Great News! These cats have found a home!!!!!!! Thanks to all who replied.

This mama and baby were picked up by the Fairfield Animal Warden, who was called to an apartment by the manager, who found these 2 in an abandoned apartment. The only place at the Fairfield holding pen was a small cage in a shed. So, We took them in.

We do not know their story, but the baby was about 2 weeks old when found, She is now about 4 weeks old, and I have taken her to the vet, because we noticed that she seemed like something was wrong. She has a neurological problem, probably a genetic or could even be from a trauma. She was too young to have more extensive and testing.

The vet said she will probably do well, but will need to be adopted as a special needs kitten.

She does really well, Has a head tilt, and occasionally walks in a circle.

Mama and baby are very friendly and loving.
